At the Albany Clinic, counselling and psychotherapy are provided by a team of professionally qualified and experienced Counselling Psychologists. The aim of the service is to provide a safe and confidential space where individual adults and adolescents can work through a variety of personal difficulties. The therapists are committed to maintaining best practice standards in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, which includes maintaining membership with a regulating body (Psychological Society of Ireland), abiding with a professional code of ethics, and participating in continuing professional development and supervision. Our therapists are proficient in working from a variety of theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). They have qualifications at the undergraduate and Master’s level.
Therapy aims to enhance self awareness and facilitate change. Therapy can help you to change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, discover inner resources and alternative choices in life, and lead to greater self acceptance and healthier ways of coping and living.
